This bike ride is (apart from a holiday for me!) to raise money for Re-cycle, a charity that does up old bikes and sends them to Africa where they are distributed to those that need them the most. All money donated will go to Re-cycle and will be mostly used to go towards the shipping costs of the bikes. I will be leaving Bluff on (hopefully) the 3rd December after a 10 day walk around north Stuart Island and plan to arrive at Cape Reinga early February.

kanga went off to Toulouse today. she loved the day out and looked at the Pyrenees..a fascinating exhibition of Victorian etchings and paintings...though almost all of the artists were French and also men.
the custodians of the exhibition paid enormous attention to kanga and her friend who seemed harmless on the face of things.
seeing the Pyrenees reminded kanga of some of the new Zealand landscape.
all those waterfalls and exotic greenery.
Toulouse is a world apart from new zealand though.
And there was no honey on this trip so pooh is disapointed in kanga and her lack of imagination.
Fancy spending a day out with a friend and eating fish and looking at paintings when you could be researching the best market for honey. They did see an amazing 16th century chemist shop in the museum though...full of wonderful plant extracts and beautiful pots.
kanga seemed strangely weary when she got home..no stamina, not like James who has a fitness level of a member of the sas now.
he would be very welcome here and tigger would so enjoy playing tag with him. all for now...Pooh xx
