This bike ride is (apart from a holiday for me!) to raise money for Re-cycle, a charity that does up old bikes and sends them to Africa where they are distributed to those that need them the most. All money donated will go to Re-cycle and will be mostly used to go towards the shipping costs of the bikes. I will be leaving Bluff on (hopefully) the 3rd December after a 10 day walk around north Stuart Island and plan to arrive at Cape Reinga early February.

blog is still funny, well very funny really, and fabulous photos abound. like the parking sign, who ever would make hours into minutes and still have the authority to have the sign made and then installed. still it must surely give many people a good laugh and maybe is most useful for primary teachers.
sad and glad that you are to arrive soon at the CAPE. WILL MISS THE PHOTOS AND THE REPARTEE and all those descriptions of the food and the toasties vertical or flat.
FROM...
winnie the pooh and kanga and EYEORE ....
who has found his tail after leaving it by your tent the other night when you were sleeping and he too heard the hissing noise which is how he lost his tail in rushing into the sea to escape the hissing. he moaned about cold feet for days...
