This bike ride is (apart from a holiday for me!) to raise money for Re-cycle, a charity that does up old bikes and sends them to Africa where they are distributed to those that need them the most. All money donated will go to Re-cycle and will be mostly used to go towards the shipping costs of the bikes. I will be leaving Bluff on (hopefully) the 3rd December after a 10 day walk around north Stuart Island and plan to arrive at Cape Reinga early February.

Hi! I found out about your ride from the YHA newsletter, and researched the organizations. Great! I don't know if you are aware of this, but if you can get your organization listed on the NZ government's list of approved charities, then we Kiwis get a whopping 30% of our donation returned to us by the NZ government. And beginning in 2008, there will be no upper limit on these donations.
I will donate once your credit card link is working. And, I would also love to know if there will be NZ branch of re-cycle starting up. I would like to help them. Here is a link to my blog: www.diane-emerson.blogspot.com I am cycling the world doing volunteer work as I go. Stay safe!!
Hi Dianne - Tried to find a way to put a comment on your Blog but couldn`t find one. There is an NZ branch now started up. Web-site address is:
