Woo Hoo! Good Sports in Wanaka have decided to lend me a swanky brand new Avanti Montari mountain bike for my trip. Hats off to them!

This bike ride is (apart from a holiday for me!) to raise money for Re-cycle, a charity that does up old bikes and sends them to Africa where they are distributed to those that need them the most. All money donated will go to Re-cycle and will be mostly used to go towards the shipping costs of the bikes. I will be leaving Bluff on (hopefully) the 3rd December after a 10 day walk around north Stuart Island and plan to arrive at Cape Reinga early February.

jolly marvelous to think of you going off on a fund raising trip around New Zealand and Stewart Island, i only just realized that part of this is the walk around the island. Do you want a scallop shell to ensure that St James keeps a kindly eye on you..i could send you my special silver one to wear, the one i wore to Santiago that Andrea had Sarah Scott make .
